A key highlight of the ZooCELL journey is the opportunity for our doctoral candidates (DCs) to take part in secondments across the network. During these periods, they temporarily relocate to partner institutions, where they gain hands-on training, learn new techniques, and expand their scientific perspectives. These experiences not only strengthen their research projects but also immerse them in diverse international academic environments, an invaluable step in shaping their future careers.
Over the past months, several DCs have been on the move. Kevin, Shreya, Lucia, Olga, Cesar, and Marie spent time at HD, working closely with the EM expert labs of Jékely (COS) and Schwab (EMBL), and benefiting from the cutting-edge EMCF facilities at COS and EMBL.
Meanwhile, Vishnupriya and Asli headed to IMEV, where they trained in diverse aspects of Clytia biology as well as microinjection techniques using Clytia and Platynereis.
Kata visited the Williams Lab in Exeter, combining lab work with an exciting annelid collection field trip.
Below, you can find a small collage capturing some of these moments, snapshots of collaboration, learning, and discovery across the ZooCELL network.
